Async MySQL for Agent

Store agent sessions in async MySQL while using web search and conversation history.

Run the Example

Set up your virtual environment

uv venv --python 3.12
source .venv/bin/activate

Install dependencies

uv pip install -U agno asyncmy ddgs openai "sqlalchemy[asyncio]"

Export your OpenAI API key

export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"

Run MySQL

docker run -d --name mysql -e MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD=ai -e MYSQL_DATABASE=ai -e MYSQL_USER=ai -e MYSQL_PASSWORD=ai -p 3306:3306 mysql:8

Wait for MySQL

Wait until the application user can connect to the initialized database:

docker exec mysql sh -c 'until mysql -h 127.0.0.1 -uai -pai ai -e "SELECT 1" >/dev/null 2>&1; do sleep 1; done'

Run the example

Save the code above as async_mysql_for_agent.py, then run:

python async_mysql_for_agent.py
