Loop with CEL end condition: stop after N iterations

Use current_iteration to stop a loop early, within its max_iterations cap.

Forward results for iterative refinement

The source leaves forward_iteration_output=False, so each iteration starts with the same input and prior-step snapshot. These are repeated independent attempts. To build on each iteration’s result, add forward_iteration_output=True to the relevant Loop(...) constructor in your saved copy.

An end condition can stop the loop early. max_iterations remains the upper bound, even when the condition never becomes true.

Run the Example

Set up your virtual environment

uv venv --python 3.12
source .venv/bin/activate

Install dependencies

uv pip install -U agno cel-python fastapi openai

Export your OpenAI API key

export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"

Run the example

Save the code above as cel_iteration_limit.py, then run:

python cel_iteration_limit.py
