Example behavior

The user_id values inside metadata label the sample documents; they are separate from the content owner passed as a top-level ingestion user_id. This example filters by that label and does not authenticate a caller. The helper downloads five PDFs into cookbook/data under the current directory. Its PDFReader(chunk=True) is the default PDF reader behavior for these files.

Run the Example

Set up your virtual environment

uv venv --python 3.12
source .venv/bin/activate

Install dependencies

uv pip install -U agno lancedb openai pyarrow pypdf

Export your OpenAI API key

export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"

Run the example

Save the code above as team_with_knowledge_filters.py, then run:

python team_with_knowledge_filters.py
