Wait for the complete response body

The archived substring check can mistake the words event: RunCompleted inside ordinary response text for a terminal event and notify with a truncated answer. Before running, remove the stream_finished = ... line. Change the condition if not notified and (stream_finished or response_finished): to if not notified and response_finished:, keeping its existing indented body.

The ASGI more_body=False boundary now triggers one notification after all body frames arrive. This captures the response body, including failed-run output; it does not certify that the run completed successfully. The streaming parser extracts Agent RunContent events; it does not extract Team or Workflow events. The example buffers the entire body in memory and uses a printing stand-in for notification delivery.

Run the Example

Set up your virtual environment

uv venv --python 3.12
source .venv/bin/activate

Install dependencies

uv pip install -U "agno[os]" openai

Export your OpenAI API key

export OPENAI_API_KEY="your_openai_api_key_here"

Run the example

Save the code above as response_middleware.py, then run:

python response_middleware.py
